Selling agricultural equipment: the registration requirement
Article Abstract:
Saudi Arabia's government subsidizes imports of farm supplies and has an interest in monitoring prices, service and quality. Registration of new agricultural materials with the Ministry of Agriculture and Water is required. New equipment is monitored for the lesser of one growing season or 500 hours before being approved for general importation. The registration process can include fixed price commitments of up to five years and submission of the technical specifications of the equipment.

Selling to the kingdom: surveillance, monitoring and detection equipment
Article Abstract:
Saudi Arabia is estimated to spend $45 to $50 million annually on security systems and related products including surveillance, monitoring, motion sensing and communications protection equipment. The primary purchasers have been the Ministries of Interior and of Defense and Aviation. The Saudi market for security systems is expected to grow at eight to nine percent annually. A directory of important contacts in Saudi Arabia is included.
