Some Thoughts for the Chancellor
Article Abstract:
Several suggestions are given for amending Britain's tax code. Among them are: introduction of annual self- assessment tax, integration of employees' national insurance contributions with personal income tax, abolishment of Victorian tax schedules which apply to corporate and personal income, improvement of 'indexation' of capital gains, restriction of mortgage interest relief, aid to London stock exchange, re-evaluation of company investment allowances and overhaul of family tax treatment. Each recommendation is briefly explained.

Help the Peasant and the Squire
Article Abstract:
England's Agricultural Holdings Bill is designed to alter the decline in tenant farming. Current laws and economics discourage farmers from letting their land.
