Is altruism evolutionary stable?
Article Abstract:
The evolutionary stability of altruism relies on the type of strategic interaction. An indirect evolutionary approach revealed that altruism, which often generates more efficient results, only becomes evolutionarily stable only if it encourages a favorable response from the interaction partner. Altruism can reduce inefficiencies only in situations where interactions are classified as strategic complements.

The limitations of the positional order effect: can it support silent threats and non-equilibrium behavior?
Article Abstract:
The positional order effect, which seeks to associate dynamics in players' behavior to chronological order of play, proved to be ineffective in providing strong support to silent threats and non-equilibrium behavior. The analysis of battle-of-sexes games, which forecast an unannounced commitment to a weakly controlled strategy, revealed a significant decline in the effect created by positional order. With regards to a class of 2x2 games with unique equilibria, which forecast non-equilibrium behavior, the positional order effect was unobserved.
