Toward a new stage of transformation
Article Abstract:
This article discusses the development of a policy toward economic reform and transformation to a market economy in Russia since 2000, suggesting that most political parties focus on strengthening the role of the state in pursuit of national goals and reforms. The author thinks that the the incomplete restructuring of the bureaucracy during transition lead to the suppression of market, that the state's role as regulator of market processes has not been defined, and the associations of business representatives have not been able to ensure a balance between market self-regulation and state regulation or defend their common interests.
