Demand shocks, advance production and market power: some lessons about markets from the laboratory
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze research on laboratory markets and their impact on studies for applied economics and policy. Market experiments produced critical information on the association between various market organizations and performance. Results of initial market experiments revealed that competitive outcomes occurred with regularity. They also showed the importance of using experimental data in determining policy analyses.
