Why are women such reluctant economists: evidence from liberal arts colleges
Article Abstract:
Women are less likely to start or continue studying economics than men for a number of reasons, some related to their experience prior to starting an economics course. Topics of interest to women, and warm-up activities when the semester starts, are ways of encouraging women that also help the whole class.

Risk, entrepreneurship, and human-capital accumulation
Article Abstract:
An analysis of human capital accumulation reveals that professional human capital takes on greater relative importance in developed economies and that individuals may allocate resources more efficiently in the presence of more than one type of human capital. The study shows that incentives to accumulate entrepreneurial human capital changes as the opportunity cost of entrepreneurship increases.
