3 in 4 women feel unsafe on campus
Article Abstract:
Three-quarters of female students in the UK do not always feel safe walking around the campus of their university at night, according to the Sodexho-Times Higher university lifestyle survey of over 2,000 students in 30 universities. The survey revealed that of all students, less than four in ten felt safe all the time when walking around the university site after dark, and that students in Ulster and London feel the least secure.

Safety is still main worry
Article Abstract:
An overview of the safety issues faced by college students in the UK and examples of the crimes that some students have suffered. Of the crimes suffered by students, theft and attempted theft accounts for 28%, with criminal damage accounting for 24%, burglary for 22%, assaults for 13%, robbery for 9% and sexual offences for 3%, according to Home Office statistics.

Students feel unsafe at night
Article Abstract:
The University Lifestyle Survey by Sodexho/Times Higher has found that almost one quarter of students feel threatened after dark in their university. The survey found that 24 percent of students felt unsafe while walking around campus at night and 38 percent felt unsafe while travelling at night from university to their accommodation.
