A barometer built from broken pieces
Article Abstract:
With the removal of the Berlin Wall, the opportunity has arisen for eastern and western Europe to compare their ideas on many subjects, and of particular interest are the social sciences. By making comparisons, the social science theories that are universal and those that reflect cultures can be separated. Those working in the social science sectors in the east have pressures on them that rarely exist in the west and they cannot waste time considering theoretical models due to the demands both to apply the knowledge they have or to create it if they do not have it.
