The worldwide community of evangelical Christians is diverse and divided, but quite distinct from its fundamentalist US bretheren. There are probably between 300 million and 400 million evangelicals worldwide, representing 5-6 percent of the population, and is largely a non-white religion, increasingly distant from worldly power and wealth.

Europe's bitter harvest; EC biotechnology monitoring has failed to reassure public
Article Abstract:
The delay in all countries implementing the EC directive on genetically modified organisms (GMOs) is symbolic of lack of progress into the single market. There is considerable public concern about the matter in Germany and Denmark, and only four of the 12 EC countries have laws to deal with this aspect of biotechnology.

Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom's Open University Business School has been operating in Europe since 1984 and in 2001 has launched an expansion campaign. The University uses online facilities, but needs to recruit overseas tutors to provide personal support.
