AT&T connect to Cambridge
Article Abstract:
US telecommunications concern AT&T has acquired the firm that owns a communications research laboratory at Cambridge University, UK. The research operation will be renamed AT&T Research Laboratory. AT&T will invest at least 30 million pounds sterling in the laboratory by 2005. The operation carries out research in multimedia, mobility, networking and communications, with AT&T keen to develop Internet Protocol services. The deal is perfect for the university and AT&T, says the university's Professor Andy Hopper.
