AVA is listening to you
Article Abstract:
The American Vocational Association (AVA) plans to review the performance of executive directors to make sure that the programs are carried out according to directions, and within financial resources. The processing time of new or renewal member applications has been reduced to six days. AVA plans to create a one-stop member service unit to examine the member contact processes. As the AVA headquarters building is bigger than required, office and rental space have been leased. High-quality financial instruments are used to optimize the returns on AVA's investments.

Collaborate or die
Article Abstract:
Collaboration is essential to the survival of vocational-technical education both because the programs need multiple viewpoints to be successful and because support of the government and business is necessary for funding. Successful programs involve parents, businesses, the government and teachers of various disciplines in curriculum development to ensure that students are encouraged to participate and that the skills taught will be useful in the workplace.
