Article Abstract:
Local student representatives will be given full access to reports by external examiners on the quality and standards of all courses, according to the Department for Education and Skills. The current practice of publishing summaries of reports by external examiners on the Teaching Quality Information (TQI) website will be scrapped.

Richard Bornat, professor of computing at Middlesex University, has been informed by his employer that some of his e-mails could constitute 'gross misconduct' and warrant instant dismissal. Academics are fallying to support Professor Bornat after he vented frustrations at red tape and sent a series of e-mails to colleagues.
