Scientists often seem unaware of their larger social obligations and do not always take responsibility for the sometimes dangerous or destructive consequences of their discoveries. Nobel laureates should lead other scientists toward social responsibility with clear opinions and advice on ethical matters.

Champions of conscience
Article Abstract:
Scientists have an obligation to remain objective and truthful in their research. Because they are members of an international community and can be viewed as global citizens, scientists should strive to uphold ethical ideals and champion human rights to set an example for others.
