Research on youth studies is doomed to be be out of date by the time it is published, though the study of youth culture is making a big comeback. Rupa Huq's own book, Beyond Sunculture, was published in spring but in the area of youth culture was out of date before it hit the shops.

An analysis of the work of Derrida and particularly how his concept of deconstruction could be applied to popular music. It is contended that through techniques such as splicing, cutting, mixing and scratching, pop music has taken to the concept of deconstructionism very readily.
