Borders open to Net study
Article Abstract:
Asia-Pacific countries rate internationalisation high on their economic agendas, and expect universities to play a leading role, according to Ken McKinnon, former president of the Australian Vice Chancellors' Cmmittee, speaking at a conference on the internationalisation of higher education. Malaysia is developing its 2020 Vision and internationalisation is seen as a key goal of Thailand's ministry of university affairs. The amount of foreign students on campus in Australia has almost double over the past 10 years, and several universities now depend on international enrolment for a proportion of their income.
