Bureaucracy has killed the spirit of academics
Article Abstract:
British academics are finding difficult to cope with the increasing amount of bureaucracy and the constant interference for the UK government. It is possible the government will introduced a curriculum for university education which will further restrict academic freedom. Reduction in grants and an increasing number of students has led to academics feeling dispirited. There has been a 40% cut in spending on each student between 1980-1995. Academics are also suffering from their pay not keeping pace with other professions.

The touchy-feely brigade: coming your way soon
Article Abstract:
A critical evaluation of the growing trend in academic circles for all opinions to be respected and care taken not to hurt anybody's feelings.
