Article Abstract:
The vice-chancellor of Brunel University and leader of the Admissions to Higher Education Review argues that while aptitude tests may help universities in the UK identify bright applicants, they should never be the only yard-stick by which candidates are measured. It is suggested that all examination tests are influenced by social, economic and life experience factors and therefore they should only be used as one element of an holistic admissions assessment process.
