Article Abstract:
An examination of how universities are preparing for the introduction of market forces into the higher education sector by improving their marketing skills. Some academics object to the increased role of marketing in higher education, arguing that it is better to invest in quality staff than on presentation. Luton University, which has recently launched a new campaign under the slogan "Together we are amazing", is used as an example of the way universities are increasingly using marketing and the impact that this can have.
