Article Abstract:
Students may find they are able to use a portfolio, made whilst studying, as part of their curriculum vitae when applying for jobs. Portfolios are also useful as a tool for tutors review students' work. Students must be selective on what is retained for their portfolio because too much information will limit its value. Work should be clearly dated and an explanation of why it was selected noted on the work. Each piece of work should demonstrate knowledge of a key skill. It is very important to review what is in the portfolio in order to remove work if it has been superseded.
