EPSRC: keeping science healthy
Article Abstract:
Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council Chief Exec. Richard Brook explains that the council is responsible for what he terms enabling or fundamental disciplines, mathematics, chemistry, conventional physics, the mainstream engineering disciplines, materials and information technology. Brook reveals that money from the Government's comprehensive spending review may be used to increase the number of advanced fellowships that assist young researchers in establishing a reputation. Brook argues that there should be some research failures because they increase learning.

How to write a resume
Article Abstract:
A good resume is a concise form of self-promotion that asks questions, unlike a conventional curriculum vitae which seeks to answer them, say some human resource managers. The resume should be written in a punchy style, with pronouns omitted. It should refer to personal milestones in a descending chronological order and arouse the personnel manager's interest in the candidate. A resume should not incorporate personal information.
