Heads plan to make knowledge a common goal
Article Abstract:
Commonwealth heads of government, at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting during Nov 1999, put forward plans to establish a Education Council and to draw up an 'education charter.' Some observers suggest the Commonwealth education initiatives which are already in place are underfunded. Others are hoping the support of Commonwealth education organisations will give impetus to the new plans. The majority of Commonwealth members are from developing countries.
