FE begs for cuts of 2% max
Article Abstract:
The UK Association of Colleges has asked the Public Expenditure Survey to limit cuts in funding to 2% rather than 5%. Serious damage could result if colleges are asked to achieve efficiency savings of 5%, colleges argue. Annual growth rates of 3% from 1999 would cost 100 million pounds sterling annually, and an additional 60 million pounds is needed annually for essential maintenance and repair. Other areas needing additional funding include learning technology and capital equipment.
