London colleges' budgets at risk
Article Abstract:
The budgets of some further education colleges in London could be at risk, if current funding policy continues, according to figures from Adrian Perry, principal of Lambeth College. Aerage levels of funding (ALFs) is cash received by each college for each unit delivered. If average levels of funding converge to around 17.50 pounds sterling, Hackney Community College and Lambeth College could lose over 5 million pounds sterling in 1997. The Further Education Funding Council is committed to converging ALFs to within 10% of the average by 1996/96.
