Fighting fit, target shy
Article Abstract:
Further education colleges were surveyed to find on how well prepared they were for independence from local authority control. More than three-quarters of college principals felt they were prepared for the change. Many of the respondents were doubtful that they could expand admissions to meet the government targets. Lack of resources was felt by many to be a barrier to successful independent operation.
