Good practice should lead to a lighter touch
Article Abstract:
The chair of the governance group of the Committee of University Chairman (CUC) argues that the guide and code of conduct developed by the CUC for university governors should lead to less external monitoring of the sector. It is suggested that the guide, if properly implemented, will make universities more accountable, thereby making external monitoring less necessary.
