Article Abstract:
Paul Mackney, general secretary of Natfhe, and Sally Hunt, general secretary of fellow teacher's union the Association of University Teachers, are to share a stage for the first time at Natfhe's conference in Blackpool, UK, as part of efforts to push forward the merger of the two unions. Under the planned merger, the new super-union, which would have a 100,000-strong membership, would have two distinct, financial independent wings, one dealing with further education and one with higher education.
