Article Abstract:
Bristol University is trying to engage with its local community to a much greater degree than it has previously managed through its "Engaged University" scheme. Professors and lecturers have been surprised by the success of some of the projects run under the scheme, as well as having their preconceptions challenged with regard to the willingness of certain elements of society to participate in the scheme.
