Uta Frith, a psychologist believes that speficic cognivitve deficits in the mind could explain the difficulties of people with autism and dyslexia. She works with autistic and dyslexic children and adults, piecing together tiny parts of the mental map. She also lectures about autism and dyslexia and was the first woman to receive the British Psychological Society's President's Award.

Issues concerning the research carried out in the summer of 2001 in the Marine Biological Laboratory situated in Cape Cod are discussed. Particular attention is given to the richness of marine species available for research, as well as to the complex library and suitable physical surroundings.
