Article Abstract:
An analysis of the impact that the marketing departments of large pharmaceutical companies are having on the publication of information from clinical trials and the way in which the pharmaceutical companies control the raw data from trials. It is argued that the pharmaceutical firms are becoming an increasingly undemocratic force, controlling negative information and leaving medical journals to publish findings of research that contradict the raw data.
