Employers toy with golden hellos to ease student debt
Article Abstract:
Employers are planning to expand the payment of "golden hellos" to graduates and introduce other financial incentives such as interest free loans in order to help them recover form large debts that they could have accumulated whilst at university. The plans were revealed by major recruiters at an Association of Graduate Recruiters conference on the higher education agenda who believe that the moves might be necessary if the government is successful in its attempts to introduce top-up fees.

Article Abstract:
An analysis of the concept of universities looking from funding from their alumni and how universities in the United Kingdom can learn lessons from their US counterparts. It is argued that universities in the UK are going to have to improve their relationships with their alumni if they are to have a chance of achieving the funding levels that they argue they will need in the future.

Lawyers to cash in if degrees derailed
Article Abstract:
Lawyers are using the academic pay dispute to show students how they could sue institutions for a 'breach of contract' if their degree courses are disrupted. Some legal firms plan visits to universities and others are leafleting students.
