How will history judge Horatio Nelson?
Article Abstract:
The professor of women's and gender history at Portsmouth University attempts to reevaluate the history of Horatio Nelson, arguing that he was far from the heroic individual that some make him out to be. It is argued that Nelson's treatment of the women in his life was questionable and that his role in destruction of the Neapolitan Republic in 1799 cannot be glossed over.
