As the new university top-fees regime is due to come into force in the UK, universities need to learn how to market themselves properly if they are to attract prospective students. Where in the past universities regarding 'marketing' as a dirty word, they now need to realise that it has to be placed at the centre of their strategic planning and that they need to conduct market research before making any critical decisions.
