Life may be better, but the future is still far from rosy
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the US invasion of Iraq and the impact the war has had on the Iraqi people and the Middle East as a whole. It is argued that while some believe that conditions have improved for some Iraqis, violence continues to hang over the region, the region has grown more volatile as a result of the failure to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the continued pressure from the US on Middle Eastern regimes to effect change, and that unless a comprehensive overarching plan for the region is developed, then the future for the Middle East is not bright.

'Is there some MI6/No 10 phrasebook, a spin doctor's Roget's, a dossier of distortion especially doctored for use in communication with No 10?'
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the apparent inability of the UK government and MI6 to write documents in "Plain English", in a manner that is easily understandable and not liable to misinterpretation. It is argued, in the light of the convoluted use of the English language that has been revealed by the Hutton enquiry, that perhaps MI6 report writers should return to school in order to learn how to write in an easily intelligible manner.
