Lifting the veil on a hidden concern
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the problems universities and university staff face in dealing with female Muslim students who insist on wearing a full veil in classes. While some argue that it is their human right to be allowed to wear the veil, other lecturers have expressed disquiet with relation to a number of issues, ranging from the difficulty of judging how well a student is grasping an issue when non-verbal communication is not possible to the problem of writing an accurate reference when you cannot be certain that the person you are writing about was always the person who was in class.
