Article Abstract:
An analysis of the impact that decades of paramilitary conflict has had on higher education in Colombia. As the higher education sector in Colombia has grown, with 22% of people aged between 18 and 23 now going to university vs about 12% in 1990, the country's armed militias have been increasingly turning their attentions towards the campuses, trying to take over universities within their geographical sphere of influence in order to recruit students and exploit the universities to stock up on supplies and medicines.

Article Abstract:
An analysis of the state of college graduates in India and the role of Sam Pitroda, head of the Indian Government's new Knowledge Commission, in shaking up the country's education system from top to bottom. It is argued that human resource heads and industry leaders in India despair at the current state of graduates in India, arguing that they are incapable of original thought and have knowledge which is dated.

Article Abstract:
Further Education (FE) colleges deserve praise for giving people the opportunity for a second chance to enter higher education. It is argued that the FE sector often goes unnoticed or is undervalued but that it serves a valuable purpose and that its work should be more widely appreciated.
