A pure genius at work
Article Abstract:
Genetically engineered tomatoes have been used for a puree which is sold in supermarkets in the United Kingdom. Don Grierson, from Nottingham University, England, has been the key figure in the puree project. He argues that consumers have a right to know that foodstuffs contain genetically engineered material, and this helped with consumer acceptance of the puree. Protests about soya, in contrast, have arisen because Monsanto has mixed genetically engineered and conventional soya, and consumers are not provided with the information they wish for when they buy soya products.

Darkness in the Catholic confessional
Article Abstract:
An examination of the nature of sexual abuse by members of the clergy is made in the light of the sexual scandals that have rocked the Roman Catholic church. It is suggested that more academic data-driven research into the nature of sexual abuse by members of the clergy is needed if we are to understand whether they are different - and if they are, how - from other sexual offenders.
