A swing to the bright
Article Abstract:
The UK Labor party has traditionally been anti-intellectual but this is changing under Tony Blair, leader of the party, who has called for an input from intellectuals. The party has been unable to understand social change due to its anti-intellectual stance. The communist left gave a greater input in analysing the changes in the UK after the mid 1970s. Blair himself wrote of the need to understand why Thatcherism appealed to some voters. The new initiative is important for the party.
