A neglected force that can boost our economy
Article Abstract:
Policy-makers in the United Kingdom should do more to support adults from low-income backgrounds who want to enter higher education. The reasons for this are both economic, with those who earn a post-secondary degree less likely to earn more and less likely to be unemployed, and social, as educated low-income adults are likely to go on to become more economically productive and are likely to become better citizens and agents of change in their families and communities.
