From hashish to ashes?
Article Abstract:
It is not true to say that cannabis is not physically addictive, according to Heather Ashton, clinical psychiatric pharmacologist at Newcastle University, England. Research indicates that those who have used cannabis daily can experience considerable difficulties when trying to give it up, including sweating, insomnia and terrors. She points out that cannabis users can have an impaired sense of time, and also emphasizes that cannabis is associated with a rise in tongue, mouth and throat cancers in young people.
