Article Abstract:
Higher education will not be a major issue in the forthcoming general election in the UK, according to the British Election Study, ranking fifth in the list of concerns of the electorate behind asylum-seekers, crime, the National Health Service and the Iraq war. As such, it is argued that the Government should take a step back with its education policy and adopt a more hands off approach to dealing with the education sector.

Just the best of a bad bunch?
Article Abstract:
An analysis of Tony Blair, his waning popularity amongst the British populace and the way in which the popularity of all leaders in democratic societies tends to decline over time. It is contended that the saving grace for Blair could be that the electorate still see him as the best option on offer at present.
