Philosopher and Novelist Umberto Eco feels the use of common sense in philosophical thought has been ignored for many years. He suggests philosophers should use common sense when considering difficult and complex problems. Eco has written three novels, which have sold throughout the world, and several philosophical books. Eco works as a Professor of semiotics at the University of Bologna, Italy. He suggests semiotics is a primary strand of philosophical thought, it includes all forms of language.
