Paying for retirement: Social security today
Article Abstract:
Social Security (SS), the most successful domestic government program in the US history is showing signs of old age with statistics indicating fall in number of workers funding each retiree from 16 in 1950 to 3.3 in 2005. Various related issues such as framing of the system political facet, the effects of The Great Depression, and unstable finances for long term SS are discussed along with President George W. Bush's plans on reforming the system.

A new breed of for-profit schools is emerging from the shadows, less marginal and less disdained than its predecessors. These schools are accredited that gives them greater legitimacy and grants their students access to federal loan programs.
