Poland launches institute designed to promote European integration

Aleksander Kwasniewski, the president of Poland, has officially opened the Collegium Europaeum, a higher education institute designed to promote the concept of an unified Europe, in Gniezno, Poland. The new facility was established by the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland, with the aim of popularising the idea of unifying and integrating nations while respecting existing cultural identity.

A double first in Far East for Notts

Nottingham University has become the first university to open campuses in Malaysia and China. The two ventures, in which the university has invested UKPd31 million, are expected to open up new opportunities for staff and student at the university to spend time studying, teaching and researching in China or Malaysia.

Plymouth plays to its teaching strengths

Plymouth University has launched four Centres of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (Cetl), enhancing its reputation as one of the most innovative teaching institutions in the UK. Plymouth is the only university in the UK other than the Open University to have four Cetls, and most universities have only one.
