Protests over US visa politics
Article Abstract:
The Bush Administration is facing criticism for a rise in the number of academics being denied visas to travel to the US, supposedly on ground of national security. A visa for a Bolivian hired to teach at the University of Nebraska is in limbo and a group of 55 Cubans were recently refused permission to attend an international Latin American studies conference in Puerto Rico.
