Reflect on the inner 'I.'
Article Abstract:
A learning journal, a piece of sustained work completed over time, helps improve learning. Learning journals can have many purposes. Keeping a learning journal can be a way for novice tutors to reflect on their practice, thereby helping to enhance their teaching expertise. Learning journals can also be a means of helping staff and students develop deep or critical thinking. However students may find writing in the first person singular an awkward concept. Tutors need to consider such matters as the purpose of the journal and whether it will be assessed before setting their students a journal task.

How to stop students from cheating
Article Abstract:
A study in the US found around 60% of students had cheated during their time in higher education. Some British university lecturers deny they have a problem with students' cheating. Working in collaboration with others can be useful for students but collusion should be avoided at all costs. Collusion occurs when the students plan to mislead the assessor. Plagiarism is the result of copying someone elses work and pretending it is your own. Students need to be reminded of the need to avoid cheating in a way which does not restrict their work. Examinations tend to exclude some forms of cheating.
