The US has started to reevaluate its foreign policy for the new world order following the collapse of the Soviet Union and the ensuing end of the Cold War era. Policy-makers are faced with the challenge of initiating foreign policy changes employing the principles articulated by America's founding members necessary to adopt to the changing times.

The end of the Cold War offers an opportunity for the US to form a new foreign policy. Since Americans want government to pay more attention to domestic problems, balancing domestic and foreign priorities becomes necessary. Furthermore, a pragmatic approach in dealing with each country should be pursued.
