SAC (Scottish Agricultural College) heeds the seeds of agricultural change
Article Abstract:
The harsh landscape of Scotland has always been difficult to farm, and Scottish farmers are being badly affected by EC changes in agriculture policy. The Scottish Agricultural College has added a wide variety of courses to its syllabus to offer alternatives. Courses on offer include tourism, biotechnology and leisure management. The leisure management courses are offered on the basis of jobs opportunities increasing by 20% by the year 2000.

Flying the flag for the minorities
Article Abstract:
There are 13 million residents of the EC who belong to ethnic groupings, and may suffer racism as a result. The EC Treaty of Rome in 1957 did not consider racism to be a problem, so no mention was made of it. The matter is still not being addressed by the provision of a directive. The UK passed legislation in 1976 to outlaw racism.
