Say 'no' to Iraqi loot
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the laws relating to the trade of historical artifacts are examined in the light of the situation in Iraq and calls from some for the relaxation of US and Iraqi laws restricting the importation and exportation of historical artefacts. It is argued that any attempt to relax laws governing the trade in artefacts must be resisted if looting is not to be encouraged and historical knowledge lost through the removal of artefacts from their original countries and the destruction of sites through the looting process.

Single form poses threat to diversity
Article Abstract:
The University of Chicago is intending to adopt for the 2008-09 academic year the widely used common application form that simplifies the application process of students. Although the common form will threaten the diversity of the system and the distinctive and quirky essay questions the University is well-known for, officials believe that many students who ignore their university to avoid filling out a separate application form would apply, thus increasing the number of applicants.
