Article Abstract:
While millions of people owe their lives to the positive impact of immunisations, anti-vaccine movements still regularly rise up, most recently raising concerns over the purported link between the combined measles, mumps and rubella vaccine and autism. It is argued that the anti-vaccine movement, while in itself and anti-progressive movement, has in fact been instrumental in the promotion of incremental improvements in the quality of vaccines and the way in which they are used.
