Students win UKPd250K payout
Article Abstract:
The Office of the Independent Adjudicator, the student complaints watchdog, is set to order Oxford Brookes university to pay around UKPd250,000 to a group of about 25 students who began four-year osteopathy degrees at the university in 1998 and 1999. The university had repeatedly failed to gain the proper professional accreditation required for the course, meaning that the students would be unable to practise as osteopaths. The students alleged that this amounted to a breach of duty of care and a breach of contract.
